It triangulates bracing, and keeps the frame horns in place. The "kafer" bar setup is the best overall rear safety add-on you can have. Wheel hop breaks traction and is no good for drag cars, but rear steering caused by be-bopping swing axles causes crashes. Toe-in, in a fast corner, causes severe oversteer.
